As mentioned above I've seen it countless times myself the kids that didn't get baptized still have their families, most of those that did are now out and shunned. One girl in my local ex-jw FB group hasn't spoken to her parents in 25 years ! She now has children of her own, sick ! Lots of good comments here keep reading and learning. I've noticed lots of the people working at the local coffee shops / McDonalds are students, they seem dynamic and are there to learn and gain real world experience. Looks good on any resumé give it a shot maybe when you don't have classes ?

Angry and scared
by BlackWolf ini feel like everything that comes out of my mothers mouth is something negative and cringe worthy.
all she seems to talk about with me is how terrible and demonic our disfellowshipped relatives are, how horrible the world and holidays are, or how she is so much better and "holier than thou".
it really makes me sick sometimes.

Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?
by Rainbow_Troll intheir fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.
you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.
if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.

I looked into it at first as well, that and SDA. Just a stepping stone off the circus. I'm simply not cut out for the community lifestyle as my name here belies. There is a great website called Friends Of Jehovah's Witness that is run by a Bible Student sister, very nice woman called Jacqueline, her whole family went through a lifetime of the JW ringer.

I now fancy myself as a lone ranger Christian, still read the Bible and am non Trinitarian as are a couple of my ex jw friends. We do attach much more importance to the Christ than before however, Christian Freedom !
God Bless !

"50 Years a Watchtower Slave" Chapter 6
by new boy inchapter 6. jesus and the flag.
my mother told me that “the end” was coming very soon.
so at the encouragement of mother and many others in the congregation i was baptized in january 1967 and started full time ministry as “pioneer” in may of 1968.. in fact she told me when i was younger that i would never even get out of high school before “the end” would come.

Pyramid Schemes
by schnell inseveral years ago, i was introduced to a "wonderful" company called fortune hi tech marketing by a brother and his wife.
they had been introduced by a former sheriff who claims he had researched the company and found no leins or judgments, and that former sheriff had been brought in by a pastor.
you can read what happened with fhtm on wikipedia if you so desire.. this whole new idea of multilevel marketing had my brain reeling, though, and soon enough, i actually signed up with none other than prepaid legal.

The wife of one of my guy's at the shop got involved with Primerica. Another one where recruitment trumps the product. The guy that was coaching her even came to the shop here to talk to her then husband ( divorced now ).
Another one IU have first hand experience with is Isagenix superfood products. I admit to using the vitamins and shakes as a supplement. They do work as well as any other competing brands I suppose, better than any GNC product I tried. However their marketing speil is for the birds, I saw through it right away and ran. I just order through a friend or pick-up at a weight loss clinic. My friend still has his easy city job however, I doubt he could live off the product sales alone.
